Sharing Good News....

Bags of Love and Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) have formed a valuable partnership to help kids in crisis. The hand-sewn bags can be filled with whatever is needed at any time during the year - whether with personal care items: comfort care items such as teddy bears, toys and blankets; or a winter care kit of a hat, gloves, and a scarf. Age and gender-appropriate bags are put together with love of volunteers reflecting the nonprofit's name.

"These care bags and the items inside can turn a child's darkest day into Christmas Day, Children who have suffered trauma sometimes have to leave their home right away in the name of safety - even without their personal belongings. The care bags give them things they can call their own at a confusing and emotional time. A teddy bear or a blanket can be a big difference-maker when there may be no one else to hug for reassurance."
